Well done to our CSA Member Keziah Burt 

As the National Army Museum’s artist in residence Keziah, worked on a live demonstration at the museum for 7 days back in May this year, creating a portrait bust of her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II as a young Princess in her ATS Army Uniform.The bronze portrait is now a part of the permanent art collection in the National Army Museum. Congratulations to CSA Member Deborah Harrison on winning the Ashburner Prize 2022 with her Stone Totem “Connectivity”.

The stones celebrate the quarries around the South West and she has assigned a meaning to each stone through the carving of a symbol. To find out more go to Debs website

You can see the Exhibition at Stone Lane Gardens on the edge of Dartmoor in Devon. It will be on from1st July until 31st October.

Demonstrations at Miserden 2022

David progressed an abstract piece based around unfurling plant fronds using Zimbabwean Springstone.

Clare made small porcelain sculptures casting found objects & organic forms.  Demonstrating how she makes these textured handheld forms.

Martin demonstrated making, slip casting, plaster mould making and firing his transitional vessels in a garden incinerator (up to fire but not including the fire)

Online Forums

During the Pandemic we moved to on-line talks which proved very successful. Going forward we will mix open forums and On-line.

 Open Forums

Come and hear members and external speakers talk about their work and meet with other sculptors (and committee members).  The open meetings (Open Forums) take place regularly in various parts of the region.  Friends and non-members are very welcome.  You’ll find further details on our Events section and in our bi-monthly newsletter, Sculpture Loop

Exhibitions

We aim to put on one main show each year and one or two smaller shows when opportunities arise.  All members will be invited to submit entries for selection.  Information about current and past exhibitions can be found in our Exhibitions section. Sculpture Loop, our free electronic newsletter, has an array of interesting and relevant information for sculptors and those interested in sculpture, including forthcoming exhibitions.  We cover what’s happening, where the next Open Forum is taking place, feedback from the latest meetings as well as information about up-coming exhibitions, entry call-ups for shows, exhibitions and competitions, and other sculpture related topics.
